Using multiple controllers to deliver a meeting
Last modified: 14 May, 2024
BNI+ allows more than one active controller at the same time. These could be from one or more users. Although more than one presentation screen can be generated, all screens will show the same slide.
If more than one controller is detected, the following priority is applied:
- President
- Leadership
- Admin
This means that the president’s controller will take priority over that of a leadership person which would take priority over an admin account. This order ensures that the president can control and deliver the meeting without interruption unless they approve of it.
If more than one controller is used by the same user, then they will all be active and will affect the presentation screen.
Passing control from one user to another
A message bar will appear on top of the agenda when multiple controllers are present. These messages will notify users and give options to switch control between different users.
Here the president is notified of other controllers detected.

In the example below, the president is active and another user logs in with the admin account. The admin user’s message bar will allow them to request control.

When they do, the president’s message bar will allow them to decline in 10 seconds, otherwise the request for control will be approved:

Note: The president has 10 seconds to decline a request from another user.
This is intentional to permit another leadership account to assume control if the president’s connection to the meeting fails.
The president can assume control by clicking TAKE CONTROL. Similarly, the other user can RETURN CONTROL voluntarily when they are done.
